Enzo Fernandez and his agent have apologised to Chelsea over the recent comments he made about Real Madrid, per Sky Sports.
Fernandez raised questions about his future in West London, and also said he would welcome living in Madrid.
Chelsea punished the midfielder for his controversial comments by deciding to drop him for their matches against Port Vale and Manchester City.
Manager Liam Rosenior confirmed the club’s decision in his press-conference last week, saying the player ‘crossed a line’.
However, it appears Fernandez has patched things up with Chelsea by apologising for his comments.
The 25-year-old joined the Blues in January 2023 for a British-record transfer fee of £106.8 million.
He has been a key member of the first-team, scoring 28 goals and providing 29 assists in 161 appearances across all competitions.
Operating mainly as a central midfielder, the Argentine has started 29 Premier League matches this season, scoring three goals.
Fernandez is contracted with Chelsea until 2032, but his recent behaviour suggests he wants to join Madrid.
Los Blancos are in the market for a top midfielder this summer, and the 25-year-old is reportedly one of their primary targets.
Fernandez is valued at more than £100m but Chelsea are not trying to sell their prized asset.
However, they could be forced to reconsider their stance if the player pushes for a move in the summer.
