Chelsea have been handed a boost ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Barcelona with Pedri set to miss the game according to reports in Spain.
Having beaten Burnley 2-0 in the Premier League on Saturday, Chelsea welcome Spanish champions Barcelona to Stamford Bridge in a mouth watering Champions League clash.
The Blues will be looking to return to winning ways after a disappointing 2-2 draw against Qarabag last time out, whilst Barcelona also dropped points against Club Brugge.
Chelsea have seven points from their opening four games and sit 12th, and are only behind Barcelona on goal difference.
A win would be a huge boost to Chelsea’s chances of securing a top eight finish, which would see them automatically advance to the last 16 and avoid two extra games in the play-offs.

Tuesday’s clash will see a number of top players coming up against each other, including talented teenagers Lamine Yamal and Estevao.
Chelsea will be without Cole Palmer due to a fractured toe, but the Blues have been handed a boost ahead of the clash.
Spanish outlet Sport have reported Spain international Pedri will miss the game, and Barcelona don’t want to take any risks whilst he’s not 100%.
The report adds Pedri should be ready for the next La Liga game, whilst Marcus Rashford is fit and available to face Chelsea.
Other than Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill and Dario Essugo Chelsea have a fully fit squad to pick from including Reece James.
