Enzo Maresca has once again pointed at something his Chelsea squad is missing as a reason for many errors being made.
There was a bunch more errors yesterday in their defeat against Brighton, with the first being a sending off for centre back Trevoh Chalobah.
And we have already reported on some other comments from Maresca indirectly blaming the summer recruitment, or a lack of it, for the 3-1 defeat yesterday at Stamford Bridge.
A lot has been said about the lack of experience Chelsea have in their squad and many within the game, pundits and fans alike, have said that they would have preferred to see Chelsea’s squad build done with a lot more balance with a couple more experienced heads in the team. For me, that’s just obvious and should have been addressed, but it hasn’t.
And Maresca has once again mentioned a lack of experience, and not for the first time.
Enzo Maresca speaks to Sky Sports.
After the Brighton defeat, Maresca said on the reasons for them making mistakes lately:
“For sure, we need to learn and we need to learn quickly. It can be a mix of experience or it can be a mix of a simple mistake. If you watch the first-half today, you don’t think about the injured players because we were in control and dominating the game. In the last two games, unfortunately with two red cards, everything changed.”

We cannot dwell on this defeat as we have a big week coming up. We need to fix up and get ready to bounce back again. It’s important to turn this slump around fast now.
