Norwegian Erling Haaland bid farewell to his veteran German friend Ilkay Gundogan after his move to Galatasaray in the final hours of the summer transfer window, bidding farewell to a very special period filled with achievements with the Sky Blues in England, during which he won every possible title.

What did Haaland say?

This move follows a storied eight-year tenure at Manchester City, which began with his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2016, and a subsequent season with Barcelona in 2023/24. Throughout his illustrious spell with the Citizens, Gündoğan made 358 appearances across all competitions, contributing 65 goals and 47 assists. His remarkable journey in Manchester was crowned with five Premier League titles and a coveted Champions League triumph.
