Teams in England and abroad are exploring a summer move for Wolves star Mateus Mane, ExpressAndStar.com understands, though the club remain determined to keep him for the Championship.

Mane broke through in December with a full debut at Anfield, then started 14 consecutive Premier League matches. He scored three first-team goals in the second half of the season, including back-to-back strikes against West Ham and Everton, and drew worldwide attention. After a dip, he finished strongly in the final home draw with Fulham.

Premier League side Newcastle retain long-standing interest and are considering a move, while Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt are monitoring and could act. Juventus have shown strong interest, but whether they can finance a deal remains unclear. Several other leading European clubs have asked about his availability.

It has been suggested a fee of at least £30 million would be needed to tempt Wolves, although that figure could fluctuate after relegation.

Rob Edwards, who gave the 18-year-old his chance, has been sacked and Cesar Peixoto is set to take over ahead of a rebuild. Edwards had said Mane would stay next season and the player hinted the same in an interview, amid reports of unrest at the sudden change. Since the season ended, Mane has trained in Portugal to maintain his shape.
