After a difficult week on and off the pitch, Chelsea are bidding to sign off for the international break on a high as they face Everton in a crucial Premier League fixture this evening. The Blues have suffered three straight defeats in the space of ten days, losing ground in the top-four battle and crashing out of the Champions League in rather humiliating fashion at the last-16 stage.
Additionally, Chelsea have lost captain Reece James to injury, while Enzo Fernandez has raised speculation about his future by hinting at a summer exit. Liam Rosenior's side now pay their first visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium hoping to get back on track.
Everton, meanwhile, have picked up more points away from home so far this season but did beat Burnley in their most recent match here before losing to Arsenal in London. European qualification remains a possibility for the Toffees, currently a dark-horse in the Champions League battle, a win this evening would move them to within two points of Chelsea. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Dom Smith at the ground.

There are some things in football that money can’t buy. The problem for Chelsea’s owners is that a very good team is supposed to be one of the things it can, writes Dom Smith.
The BlueCo consortium led by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali’s Clearlake Capital has spent £1.5billion on players since buying the club in 2022, but Chelsea still look miles off the best sides in Europe after their Champions League humbling against Paris Saint-Germain.
An 8-2 aggregate defeat was a humiliation that raised serious questions about whether the project at Stamford Bridge is a work in progress or regress.

Liam Rosenior says he is “excited” by the “detailed conversations” he has been having with Chelsea’s sporting directors about potential summer signings.
How Chelsea will strengthen their squad at the end of the season has come sharply into focus this week after the Blues crashed out of the Champions League at the round of 16 after an 8-2 aggregate drubbing at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain.
Chelsea have spent £1.5billion since the BlueCo consortium bought the club in May 2022 and further spending is expected this summer.

Liam Rosenior is expected to name a strong team, which could include a return for Estevao, who has not played since the middle of last month due to a hamstring injury.
There could be another run out at centre-back for Jorrel Hato, while Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez will be good to go after being taken off with half an hour to go on Tuesday to give them a rest.
It is unclear whether Jamie Gittens is available.
Chelsea predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Hato, Cucurella; Santos, Caicedo; Palmer, Fernandez, Neto; Joao Pedro.

Silvino Louro, Jose Mourinho’s long-time goalkeeping coach at the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United, has died.
Silvino’s passing at the age of 67 following an illness was announced on Thursday night.
The Portuguese was a valued member of Mourinho’s backroom staff across his compatriot’s illustrious managerial career between 2001-18, working with him across a number of Europe’s biggest clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Porto.

At another time, or at another club, the signing of Jorrel Hato might well have prompted far greater fanfare, writes Dom Smith.
When Chelsea signed him from Ajax in August, it brought to an end months of the Dutchman’s name being bandied around and linked with a host of top clubs. He was, after all, considered one of the brightest young defenders on the continent.
Instead, his arrival brought a somewhat underwhelming reaction. When you are a club’s eighth signing in a single summer window, taking that team’s total spending above the £250million mark, it can be hard to stand out.
But Hato’s chance may finally have come.
