Christian Vieri views Inter Milan as the most complete team in Serie A, but insists that may not be enough to win the Scudetto.

During his latest interview via FCInterNews, Vieri took stock of Cristian Chivu’s early regime at San Siro.

Cristian Chivu replaced Simone Inzaghi in June despite lacking experience in senior management.

However, the 44-year-old has defied expectations at the beginning of his tenure in Milan.

Despite losing twice in the opening three Serie A rounds, Chivu has steadied the ship.

Furthermore, he has inspired Inter to four successive wins in all competitions, including a 3-0 rout of Slavia Prague last night.

Meanwhile, back-to-back wins over Sassuolo and Cagliari have catapulted the Nerazzurri within a three-point distance of Serie A leaders AC Milan.

Inter will be looking to make three wins in a row when they meet newcomers Cremonese at home on Saturday.

With the international break around the corner, another victory would come as a huge confidence boost.

Asked whether he still sees Inter as the best team in Serie A, Vieri replied: “If you ask me who has the best squad, I’ll say Inter.

“I don’t change my mind just because they lost to Udinese.”

Then, he delivered his verdict on Chivu’s early days at San Siro.

“Let’s wait, it’s still early, you need patience,” Vieri added. “It’ll surely go well.

“He has a great team, results are starting to come, and early difficulties are normal.

“But we’re all positive. Inter, in my opinion, are very strong.

“Reaching two Champions League finals in three years means something.

“That doesn’t guarantee trophies, but they have everything it takes to succeed.”

PIo Esposito & San Siro

Furthermore, Vieri offered Francesco Pio Esposito valuable advice.

“The effort at the international level is greater,” he stated. “With the national team and in the Champions League, it’s physically demanding.

“He can handle it, while many players can’t. When you play up front, it’s more physical.

“You can have three defenders marking you, and if you’re not ready, tough, and prepared, you suffer.

“Instead, he’s a giant, he links up well with the team, and he can handle the physical battle. That’s impressive.”

Finally, he commented on the sale of San Siro and the surrounding areas to AC Milan and Inter.

“Guys, they tore down the Maracanã and Wembley,” Vieri claimed. “We need to move forward.

“We can’t host the Euros or a Champions League final like this. Indeed, we’re the only country still playing in stadiums that are more than 50 years old.

“That’s not good for modern football. We need to adapt. And I’m not the only one saying it.”
