And Hakan Calhanoglu ably demonstrated why he is as important as he is for Inter.

The former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder kept up with the Bayern midfield, blocking passing lanes and making challenges when he could.

And then in possession, Calhanoglu was both a calming influence and a creative hub for Inter.

The Turkish international played a key role in winning the corner from which Inter scored their second goal on the night.
