The 4th Business Court of Rio de Janeiro removed Pedrinho from control of Vasco’s SAF on Tuesday night and appointed lawyer Samantha Mendes Longo as court interventor for 60 days.
According to Globo.com, Longo must restore governance processes, transparency, accountability and information flow at the SAF, and file fortnightly reports to the court.
Longo served as the CBF’s legal director from May 2022 to February 2023. She has more than 20 years in corporate law and was the second woman to hold a director role at the federation.
She is a councillor at OAB/RJ, a member of the Judicial Recovery and Bankruptcy working group, and sits on the National Council of Justice’s conciliation management committee. She also teaches at public and private higher education institutions.
Judge Caroline Fonseca’s decision strips president Pedrinho of authority over the SAF. Board members Christiano Stockler Campos and Felipe Elias were also removed from its administrative council.
The judge said the fiscal council’s latest report identified serious governance failures, weak internal controls and limits on oversight. The ruling also addressed allegations raised by Chilean forward Jean David.
Jean David, who left Vasco at the end of 2025, said a factor in his poor spell in Brazil was a threat demanding he pay commissions tied to his own move from Toluca in August 2024. The club denied any irregularity and opened an investigation.
