Now it’s official. After four years in charge of Inter Milan, Simone Inzaghi has left to join Al-Hilal.

The 49-year-old had first arrived at Inter in the summer of 2021. He came in from Lazio to replace Antonio Conte at the helm of the Nerazzurri after the latter’s tempestuous exit.

There were certainly ups and downs during Inzaghi’s tenure in charge of Inter. However, on the whole, it was a successful four-year spell.

Inzaghi won the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia twice, and the Supercoppa Italiana on three occasions with Inter. He also guided the Nerazzurri to two Champions League finals.

Therefore, there had been a feeling that if Inzaghi were to stay for the long haul, he could build a long-term cycle in the club’s history.

However, that is not the decision the former Lazio coach has made. He has instead opted for a major change in scenery.
