Dybala is certainly a key player for Roma.

The Argentine has been a major source of goals, assists, and creativity in the final third for the Giallorossi since joining on a free transfer from Juventus in the summer of 2022.

However, injuries have also been an unfortunate theme of Dybala’s time in the capital.

That had been the case for much of the time that Dybala had been at Juventus. And it has certainly been true of his stint at the Stadio Olimpico.

Dybala has not suffered any particularly major injuries.

However, muscle injuries here and there have tended to rule the former Palermo man out of action for spells.

Dybala was not able to play any part in his team’s Serie A match away to Monza today.

The 30-year-old had been hoping to recover from his most recent setback in time for the match.

However, the injury proved to be significant enough to rule Dybala out.

Dybala was not even part of the Giallorossi squad for the team’s Serie A clash with Venezia.

Then, on Thursday Dybala was on the bench for his team’s Europa League match against Elfsborg. However, he did not appear during that match.

The Argentine was once again absent against Monza last weekend. That was the Giallorossi’s final match before the international break.

Dybala has been spending the break working on returning to fitness.

The former Juventus and Palermo man is not yet ready. But he should be back in training this week.

This week’s training will be crucial to see whether Dybala is able to be ready for Roma’s first match back from the break.

That will be against Inter next Sunday.
