Former Roma goalkeeper Daniel Fuzato has returned to Brazil after spending the previous six-and-a-half years in Europe.

The 27 year-old, who spent four years with the Giallorossi, has officially signed a two-year contract with Vasco da Gama, joining the club on a permanent transfer from Spanish side Eibar.

“I’m very happy, it’s an important moment for myself and my family, too. I have to thank Vasco for opening the doors, it was the right time to return to Brazil,” Fuzato told Globo Esporte.

“That was the thing (returning to Brazil) that spoke the loudest when it came down to making this decision. Once we hear about Vasco’s interest, we couldn’t pass up this chance.”

Adding, “This is a major step for my career. Another crucial aspect is that I’ll be close to my family—I’m very happy.”

After collecting eight total appearances with Roma, Fuzato left the club permanently in 2022, transferring to Spain where he spent time with Ibiza, Getafe, and Eibar.
