Former Wolves boss Nuno is awaiting a decision on his West Ham future after the club’s relegation to the Championship.

West Ham went down despite a 3-0 win over Leeds, while Tottenham secured safety with a 1-0 victory over Everton. The Guardian reports that some members of the Hammers hierarchy want Nuno to stay, and that a decision will be made within the next two days.

Nuno began the season with Nottingham Forest, having led them into Europe, and now faces heavy speculation over his position after a whirlwind campaign.

He had looked set to be axed once the drop was confirmed, with meetings said to have taken place on Monday.

His three-year deal is said to include a clause allowing West Ham to dismiss him without paying compensation.

If he does leave, the Hammers would be searching for a fifth manager in two years. Former Wolves boss Gary O’Neil, who led Strasbourg to the Europa Conference League semi-finals, is among potential candidates alongside ex-West Ham midfielder Scott Parker.
