Chelsea probably need a new centre back in my view, and they are on course to make a late move to sign one.
That is at least according to one exclusive report this week that suggests they are weighing up an offer to sign a defender described as a ‘warrior’.
Although Chelsea appear to be playing down any chance of signing a new centre back by pushing it out through the media, some outlets are reporting that they actually ARE looking into new centre back options.
In fact, my colleague on this site put out an exclusive yesterday suggesting that there is actually substance to the noise around Chelsea making enquiries to sign Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan in the remaining weeks of this transfer window.
The news of an offer being rejected for Bastoni first came in yesterday afternoon via the Italian media, but there is no indication that Chelsea will be back in with another offer.
So to me it is pretty clear that Chelsea are at least certainly looking at options for new centre backs, because Enzo Maresca has also asked for one.

Well, another exclusive, this time from GIVEMESPORT yesterday, suggests they are also in for another centre back in the shape of Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen.
They claim that Chelsea are on course to weigh up making a late attempt to recruit Piero Hincapie.
Chelsea are set to consider lodging a bid for Hincapie. The central defender has been described as a ‘warrior’ by agent Manuel Sierra and he would be a fine addition to Chelsea’s back line.
I don’t think for one minute his club will sell him right now and if they would, then it would only be for a huge fee that Chelsea will not even think about paying up for.
