Speaking exclusively with FLW, Lee Hendrie has been discussing the potential for Danny Rohl to replace Phil Parkinson at Wrexham.
Phil Parkinson is fighting the biggest battle of his Wrexham AFC tenure so far.
The Red Dragons haven't enjoyed a Hollywood start to their 25/26 Championship season, with the club scrapping away at the foot of the table during the early exchanges.
It's been somewhat of a reality check for everyone connected with the club, such has been the nature of their almost exclusive success story under Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac up until now.
As such, Parkinson, the manager who arrived in the summer of 2021 and has helped steer the club from the National League all the way to English football's second tier in just four years, is now skating on the thinnest of ice he's been on since his Racecourse Ground appointment.
With whispers starting to grow louder over his potential Wrexham sacking, supporters will naturally be discussing who Parkinson's replacement may be should the axe be swung.
One candidate could be former Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl, who after a summer of being in the frame for a number of vacancies, couldn't land himself a new role before eventually departing Hillsborough in late July.
Speaking exclusively with Football League World, we asked former player turned Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie: 'Pressure is mounting on Phil Parkinson at Wrexham, should Danny Rohl be someone they consider if he is indeed sacked?'
Hendrie said: "It looks like there's ever more pressure on Phil Parkinson.
"Danny Rohl? Yes, I think he'd certainly be in the hat for a job like that. They've brought a lot of players in, big players, and we've seen what Danny Rohl is capable of doing.
"Certainly he would be amongst, I'd of said, taking that job on knowing what the Championship is all about and his style and methods.
"But I'm pretty sure there would be a number of names that would like to take Wrexham on, just for obvious reasons. That club is really on the stride up.
"But you do feel that Danny Rohl wouldn't be a bad addition for them if this is to happen (Parkinson leaving).
There a few young managers in the game held in higher regard than Rohl.
At just 36, the German was able to take on the Sheffield Wednesday job in October 2023 - a role that presented just as many problems on the pitch for him as it did off it - and walk away from it this summer having worked relative wonders at Hillsborough given the unprecedented circumstances he faced.
From keeping them in the Championship in 23/24 by three points, to turning them into outside play-off contenders for large parts of last season, all the while dealing with countless off the field challenges under Dejphon Chansiri's ongoing turbulent tenure as owner of the football club.
With his hands largely tied on the transfer front, much of Rohl's success at Wednesday was down to his ability to extract the most out of his players thanks to his coaching and tactical nous.
Therefore, having proven himself to be a top young manager in that respect, it's undoubtedly a highly exciting thought of what he could achieve at a club where he would be given everything he needs from a financial perspective to succeed, and Wrexham's American owners have certainly put their money where their mouth is.
So, should Parkinson be handed his marching orders in the near future, then bringing in Rohl - who was even mentioned as a candidate for the RB Leipzig job this summer - would surely be a home run hit for Wrexham.
