Former Manchester United and Italy star striker Giuseppe Rossi believes Inter Milan didn’t have the squad to win the Champions League this season.
Giuseppe Rossi argued that Inter Milan would not have won the Champions League this season, as the squad wasn’t strong enough to do so.
Therefore, despite the disappointment of exiting the Champions League against Bodo/Glimt, this season is a success for Inter Milan.
This, since the Nerazzurri are a certainty to win the Serie A title this season. And that was their key objective going into the season.
Furthermore, Giuseppe Rossi argued that although losing to Bodo/Glimt was unexpected, they will learn from the mistakes they made.
Rossi made these statements in an interview with SempreInter.com and The Italian Football Podcast, at an online event hosted by talkSPORT Bet Online Slots.

“The season is still a success [despite exiting Champions League against Bodo/Glimt]. If you’re able to win the Scudetto, it’s still a success” Rossi began.
“Winning the Scudetto is not a given. Winning anything is not a given. Did Inter have the squad to win the Champions League? I don’t think so.
“So the objective to win Lo Scudetto, will be done this year. As you said they have a 10 point lead, if they lose this it’s gonna be one of the worse ones.
“But I think they’ve already secured it [the Serie A title]” Rossi continued.
“We would never have thought that they would lose to Bodo. We never thought they would lose two games” Rossi added.

“Why did they [fail in the Champions League]? I have no idea. We don’t know, only the players and coaches fully understand and know. They are around each other 24/7″ Rossi pondered.
“It could be a mental approach, the way they were training during the week, the buildup. I don’t know. That’s stuff they will figure out.
“Yes, it was definitely disappointing to see them lose against Bodo. Even though, they’ve had a good track record beating big teams this year.
“But once you get closer to that final, things start tightening up. Therefore, the approach towards the game should tighten up as well.
“But these things are things they will learn from. These are things they will get better at, for next year. I’m sure of that.
“Chivu has been a player, he understands the pressures and the way to approach these things. And I’m sure that he will be able to transmit this to the players” Rossi concluded.
