Liverpool seem to be gearing up for another busy summer.
Last term, the Anfield outfit spent the most money of all the Premier League teams with many believing that they'd easily retain the Premier League title.
That has clearly been far from the case with several new players being like with a Liverpool move every week.
Despite their lack of form, it seems like the Reds could be about to make a huge mistake with the fate of one of their most important players now looking to be sealed.
Curtis Jones' future has been spoken about since the January transfer window.
The Englishman was linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan due to his lack of playing time under Arne Slot this term.
That is, despite the 'extraordinary' midfielder being one of the Reds' most important players when he's actually been used.
And, while no concrete links have emerged regarding the future of the 25-year-old, the fact that Danish outlet Bold are saying that the Reds are 'in love' with FC Porto's Victor Froholdt tells a different story.
The 20-year-old central midfielder has been a shining light among Porto's team this term and, even though the Portuguese champions are demanding a fee worth around £73 million to prise him away, the Reds seem to be heavily interested.
Although Froholdt and Jones aren't the exact same sort of player, another midfielder already being looked at by Liverpool feels rather telling.
Even though Slot may not see it, Jones has been one of his best players this term.
Much like Dominik Szoboszlai, the Englishman has never stopped running and, even though his best position is as a central midfielder, the Dutchman has also put his versatility to the test by using him as a right back on more than one occasion.
Indeed, £73 million for a relatively unproven 20-year-old is a huge risk but he would almost certainly be an excellent signing.
But, with the performances that other players such as Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch have put in this term, it feels like they'd be much better options for the Reds to replace with Froholdt rather than Jones.
The fact that Jones is homegrown also has a major part to play as, if they do end up moving Joe Gomez and Harvey Elliott on this summer, their options for homegrown players will be wearing thin.
