Fabian Hurzeler says the door remains open for Evan Ferguson to return to Albion from Roma, although the striker’s loan continues.
According to TheArgus.co.uk, there has been no contact between the clubs about ending the season-long deal early.
Ferguson struck twice at Celtic Park, a timely lift in a tough spell in Italy, adding to his lone Serie A goal.
Speaking on Friday, Hurzeler said Ferguson remains an Albion player so he will always be considered. He added the club are tracking his progress and were pleased with the Glasgow display, and noted a return might be an option.
Reports of a mid-season recall have largely come from Italy and appear speculative.
Albion currently have one senior specialist No.9 in Danny Welbeck after Stefanos Tzimas’s season ended with a knee injury.
Ferguson was not part of Hurzeler’s plans in pre-season and was allowed out on loan, the Roma move completed while the Seagulls were in Marbella.
Albion could bring him back and seek a new loan, or allow him to tackle his challenges in Italy and prove himself in Serie A.
