Fábio reached another historic milestone wearing the Fluminense shirt. In the match against Bolívar this Thursday in the Copa Libertadores, the goalkeeper made his 113th appearance in the continental competition and became the player with the most matches in the tournament’s history.The record is shared with Éver Almeida, an Olimpia idol and a historic Libertadores figure. The expectation, however, is that Fábio will take sole possession of the lead as early as the next round.That is because Fluminense returns to the field in the competition on May 6, when it faces Independiente Rivadavia in Mendoza, Argentina. If he plays, the Tricolor goalkeeper will reach 114 matches and stand alone at the top of the list.
