Arsenal made it into the Champions League semi-finals with a comprehensive aggregate victory over Real Madrid earlier this week, and the good news keeps coming as they have now taken steps to tie down one of their best young players to a new long-term contract.
One of Arsenal’s most impressive performers across the two legs against Real Madrid was Myles Lewis-Skelly. The 18-year-old was unfazed against the defending European champions, as he locked down the likes of Rodrygo, Federico Valverde and Lucas Vazquez.
It has been a remarkable rise to stardom for Lewis-Skelly in recent months, as he is now considered to be a regular starter for Arsenal. And the club are ready to reward him by extending his stay for the foreseeable future.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Arsenal and Lewis-Skelly’s representatives have now entered into contract negotiations, and the expectation is that an agreement will be forthcoming in the very near future.
“Talks between Arsenal and Myles-Lewis Skelly are underway as new deal is considered just matter of time. Andrea Berta will lead the process with club and player very happy together, as Mikel Arteta considers Myles as a key piece for his team also in the future.”
Since arriving at Arsenal earlier this year, Berta has been very busy – particularly on the contract renewal front. Bukayo Saka is expected to sign a new deal soon, while Lewis-Skelly’s fellow teenager Ethan Nwaneri is another that is ready to hold talks with the club about extending his stay for many years to come.
It’s clear that Arsenal have a very bright present and future with the likes of Lewis-Skelly at the club, and soon, he should be tied down for a while yet.
