Arsenal and Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr are not in talks for attacker Gabriel Martinelli this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, “reports about Martinelli and Al Nassr are currently wide of the mark.
“No talks taking place with Saudi Pro League side as Al Nassr are now working on different targets at winger position.”
Martinelli has been a key player for Arsenal, bagging 15 goals and creating 11 big chances in the Premier League during the 2022/23 season.
However, Martinelli, whom Jurgen Klopp hailed as an “incredible striker”, suffered a slump since that impressive campaign.
He managed only six goals last season, and even though his performances improved this term, he could only net eight times.
Martinelli and Leandro Trossard have shared the starting berth for the Gunners, but they need an upgrade on that flank.
The North Londoners have been linked with moves for Real Madrid ace Rodrygo Goes and Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze.
Whoever comes in will reinforce the left flank and might force one of Trossard or Martinelli to consider leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer.
On the opposite flank, Arsenal need an alternative to Bukayo Saka.
The England international missed a chunk of the season, and the Gunners know they need a reliable back-up.
They have turned to Chelsea winger Noni Madueke. Arsenal agreed a five-year deal with the former PSV Eindhoven attacker.
Madueke will likely struggle for game time at Chelsea with Pedro Neto and incoming Estevao Willian competing for a starting berth on the right.
Madueke has shone on the left wing too, even if he is less effective there, and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta might consider sticking him on that flank.
He is considering a move to North London, and it is up to the clubs to agree on a transfer fee.
