Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has confirmed the return of Noah Okafor, offering his team a boost in the Premier League relegation battle.

Aside from Gabriel Gudmundsson who is serving a suspension, the German coach will have his full squad at his disposal when Brentford visit Elland Road on Saturday night.

“Better,” Farke answered on Okafor’s fitness. “Back in team training since the begging of the week.

“Of course he was out for several weeks. So it’s a question of how many minutes he has in his tank. But he’s available and it’s definitely good news for us.”

The German continued: “So everyone is available, no one is out. It’s a good situation to be in in March.”

Leeds are entering the final stretch of the season sitting perilously close to the relegation zone. They are just three points clear of the drop zone as the battle for survival continues to intensify.

Farke insisted: “I would expect that each and every team would fight until the end to grab the chance to stay in this league. And I didn’t expect anything less.

“It’s one of the seasons where perhaps you will need a few more points than were needed in the last few seasons.

“I think we need to win at least six more points. 38 points has more or less always been our crossbar. It could even be that we need one or two points more.

“Six to eight points are needed and we have eight opportunities to win it.”

The Leeds boss added: “We were confident from the first day of the season and believing in ourselves. Perhaps right now even more than in the beginning of the season.

“But there’s still work to do. If we don’t manage to get the six to eight points in the last eight games then we probably don’t deserve to stay in this league.

“I’m pretty sure that we will prove we deserve to stay in this league. Nothing is achieved yet. We have to keep going.”
