FC Cincinnati, Tigres UANL meet again in Champions Cup Round of 16 | OneFootball

MIAMI – The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continues with FC Cincinnati hosting Tigres UANL in the First Leg of their Round of 16 series on Thursday at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

FC Cincinnati arrives at the Round of 16 for a third time in search of advancing to the next stage for the first time. The MLS side secured its Round of 16 berth with a convincing 13-nil aggregate win over O&M FC.

Midfielder Obinna Nwobodo, who dished out five in assists, and forward Ayoub Jabbari, who tallied two goals, were among the key players for Cincinnati in Round One.

Tigres is set for its seventh Round of 16 appearance, having advanced on all previous occasions. The winners of the 2020 edition booked a spot in the Round of 16 by overcoming Forge FC 4-1 on aggregate.

The Round One series saw World Cup-winning Argentine attacker Ángel Correa make his Champions Cup debut, scoring one of the team’s four goals in the second leg in the process. Additionally, new signing Rodrigo Aguirre bagged his first two goals for the club as he made his debut for Tigres in the return fixture.

The sides are set to write a new chapter in the Round of 16 after clashing in the same stage in 2025. Tigres claimed the series winning 4-2 on aggregate last year.
