FC Porto are in mourning after the death of former vice-president Álvaro Pinto at the age of 97.
Pinto served as vice-president in the first board led by Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa. The club said in a statement that it had offered its deepest condolences to his family and friends and described him as a defining figure in its history.

He was awarded the Dragão de Ouro de Dirigente do Ano in 1994.
He later received the Roseta de Ouro in 1999, then the Roseta de Diamante in 2025 after completing 75 years as a club member.
The wake is scheduled for 11:00 and the funeral for 15:00 on Monday at Igreja das Antas in Porto.
