FC Porto present High Performance Centre plan to Luís Filipe Menezes | OneFootball

André Villas-Boas, the FC Porto president, met Gaia mayor Luís Filipe Menezes on Monday to present the club’s planned High Performance Centre at the Centro de Treinos e Formação Desportiva Jorge Costa.

They then visited the plot where the facility will be built, with machinery already working on site. The club said in a statement that a symbolic time capsule was created during the visit.

Villas-Boas placed a shirt marking the 31st national title, while Menezes added a medal bearing Vila Nova de Gaia’s coat of arms.

Councillors Carla Costa and Fernando Machado, municipal directors Carlos Bogas and Pedro Meira, and Olival parish council president António Pinto were also present.

The centre has been long desired and is now moving off the drawing board. On completion, it will house the whole professional football structure, including the first team, and allow youth squads to relocate permanently to the CTFD Jorge Costa.
