Liverpool continued their sheer domination in the Champions League as they overpowered LOSC by 2-1 on Tuesday night. With their latest win they qualified to the next round directly and will not need to play an extra layer of knockouts.
The Reds have their next game lined up against Ipswich Town at home in the Premier League this weekend. Arne Slot’s men are leading the charts in the league and will be aiming to clinch another three points to keep the gap comfortable enough.
Defence
Alisson Becker remains the primary goalkeeping choice for Arne Slot and the Brazilian will keep operating between the sticks yet again. At the right-back position, Trent Alexander-Arnold comes in place of Conor Bradley.
While Virgil van Dijk is continuing at the heart of the defence, Jarell Quansah makes way for Ibrahima Konate into the XI. Andy Robertson is also likely to regain his left full-back role, sending Kostas Tsimikas back on the bench.
Midfield
Alexis Mac Allister will be called back to be deployed in the middle of the park alongside Ryan Gravenberch.
As Curtis Jones has suffered a knock, Dominik Szoboszlai’s selection as an attacking midfielder without a tough choice to make.
Attack
Though Harvey Elliot scored a goal, no doubt Mohamed Salah will be seen running down the right flank. However, for the other side of the pitch, Federico Chiesa could be get the nod after an impressive introduction to the side.
It will enforce the Reds to use Cody Gakpo up front as a striker ahead of Darwin Nunez and Luiz Diaz.
Diogo Jota (muscle) and Joe Gomez (hamstring) aren’t available for the selection for this fixture due to injuries.
