Fenerbahce & Man Utd set for direct talks as Mourinho eyes reunion with ‘unstoppable’ star | OneFootball

Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to reunite with his old Manchester United pupil Marcus Rashford.

This is shaping up to be a very exciting summer for Turkish clubs, especially Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, who have been very active on the market thus far.

The Yellow Canaries have already acquired the services of former Aston Villa star Jhon Duran, who joined from Al-Nassr, and they would also like to link him up with the man who replaced him at Villa Park in January.

According to E-noticies (via BeIN Sports TR), Fenerbahce will send emissaries to the English shores this week to negotiate a potential deal for Rashford with Man United officials. The Istanbul-based giants are reportedly willing to splash the £40 million requested by INEOS.

This would be music to the ears of INEOS who are eager to offload Rashford and four other players who have no place in Ruben Amorim’s plans. These are Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia.

Rashford, in particular, shares a torrid relationship with the Portuguese manager who dropped him from his squad last December. After being hailed as ‘unstoppable’ by former Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag, the striker suffered a major fall from grace at Carrington, sparking his January loan move to Aston Villa.

In addition to striking an agreement with United, the Turkish giants must also convince the 27-year-old to make a move to Istanbul, knowing that his heart only desires Barcelona.

Would Rashford accept a move to Fenerbahçe?

It remains to be seen if the prospect of reuniting with Mourinho would be enticing enough for the England international to desert his dream.

Therefore, Rashford might be reluctant to accept a switch to Istanbul at this relatively early stage of the summer transfer window, as he’s still clinging on to a move to Catalunya.

Nevertheless, Fenerbahce could emerge as a more plausible destination towards the end of the summer, if the forward finds himself short of options.
