Fenerbahçe have opened talks with Real Madrid over a loan for Spanish forward Gonzalo García that includes an option to buy, according to Turkish-Football.com.

The Istanbul side are targeting an initial season-long move for the 22-year-old forward, who is contracted to Madrid until 2030.

García has come through the club’s academy and has been likened in style to former captain Raúl González.

Competition for places remains fierce, with arrivals such as Brazilian forward Endrick restricting chances. Madrid are understood to be open to a loan to secure the Spain Under-21 international regular top-flight minutes.

The pursuit fits Fenerbahçe’s summer plan to blend experience with emerging talent. The club have recently finalised an agreement to sign winger Mason Greenwood. García would add depth and tactical flexibility for Jose Mourinho ahead of domestic and European commitments.
