Ferguson: “I didn’t realize how big of a club Roma is.” | OneFootball

Evan Ferguson spoke to RTÉ Sport about this move to the Italian capital.

“The end of last season was difficult. After 4-5 years in England, I wanted to try something new.”

“Roma came along, and it’s hard to say no to a club like that. I knew Roma was a big club. But then, when I arrived, I realized it’s much bigger than I thought. The fans are crazy about the team. Most of my teammates speak English. And the food is much better in Italy.”

On the differences between Premier League and Serie A, “Training is very different from England and much more intense. Rest days are very rare, and when you do have one, it’s almost like a party. Both home and away, you spend the night before in a hotel.”

“The game is also different because it’s much more tactical and you play man-to-man every week against teams with different systems. That’s where it’s different from England, where it’s more “back and forth, back and forth.” But it’s a good change.”
