Bologna and Scotland star Lewis Ferguson is happy to see that many of his compatriots are doing ‘pretty well’ in Serie A, especially ‘Napoli legend’ Scott McTominay and sees benefits for their national team: ‘More of the young talent will probably make that move over there.’
Ferguson spoke to On The Continent Podcast ahead of Bologna’s second Europa League game of the season against Freiburg.
The Scottish midfielder discussed the impact of his compatriots in Serie A over the last few years.

“There’s quality there, all good players. Everyone who has come over has done pretty well. Scott [McTominay] is a legend in Naples,” Ferguson said.
“He’ll probably go down in history as the best player in the league last season, who won them the Scudetto, so it’s great to see. I’m so proud of all of them. I think it’s a great thing for Scottish football. I think over the course of the next five to ten years, a lot more of the young talent will probably make that move over there and have that sort of experience that helps everyone develop.

“It’ a good thing for the national team. A different culture, a different type of football, and different managers. You learn a lot as a player and as a person. It’s a good thing for the national team when we come back and mix together, we’ll have those experiences.”
