Chelsea will entertain Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge this Saturday evening as they hope to secure a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Blues managed to secure a 2-2 draw away at Newcastle United recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways this weekend.

Enzo Maresca will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his first-team for this game. Enzo Fernandez could play from the start of this contest, while Malo Gusto makes way for him and drops to the bench.

Defence

Robert Sanchez will be named in goal for the Blues after he conceded a couple of goals in his last outing. Wesley Fofana will continue to function alongside Trevoh Chalobah at the heart of the Chelsea backline as they hope to keep a solid shape on the defensive end of the field.

Reece James will try to prove his worth as the right-back, while Marc Cucurella hopes to shine on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Malo Gusto and Benoit Badiashile will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez will operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. Both of them need to retain possession well at the centre of the park if the Blues are to engineer some clear-cut chances in the final third.

The talented trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto will play just ahead of them as part of Maresca’s attack. Both Garnacho and Neto will look to get in behind the Aston Villa backline at every chance they can get.

Andrey Santos and Facundo Buonanotte will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Joao Pedro will lead the charge for the West London club up top. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet versus the Villans this weekend.

Marc Guiu will be available for selection on the bench.
