Fernando Roig urges Villarreal to push for Champions League return after derby win | OneFootball

Villarreal’s first team, joined by president Fernando Roig and head coach Marcelino García Toral, visited the Cerámica Experience after their derby win over Valencia. Roig used the occasion to urge the players to keep pushing.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the promotional ceramics fair, organised by Grupo Pamesa, runs from 23 to 27 February and is in its fifth edition.

The players toured exhibitions from the eight companies that make up the group, visiting the showrooms of Pamesa, Tau, Ascale, Ecoceramic, Prissmacer, Geotiles and Navarti. They then met the group’s new addition, Natucer.

The outing doubled as a relaxed team event, with the squad eating together and sharing time in a cutting edge setting for the sector.

Roig congratulated the team for their effort and the important result against Valencia, saying the victory takes them beyond 51 points. He added that the target remains to play in the Champions League for a second successive season.

He said standards must stay high, calling it a real challenge that would represent a major success, noting Villarreal have never managed two seasons in a row in the competition and that it will be difficult.
