FIFA says it will factor widespread criticism of 2026 World Cup ticket prices into its planning for the 2030 edition.

The 2026 tournament runs from 11 June to 19 July in the United States, Canada and Mexico. According to L'Équipe, prices deemed far too high have drawn anger from the European supporters’ network FSE of Euroconsumers, a consumer group that says it has lodged a complaint with the European Commission.

The issue was addressed at FIFA’s 75th Congress in Vancouver, Canada. Secretary general Mattias Grafstrom said the governing body is listening and will conduct a full review, as with every World Cup, to assess how to proceed for 2030.

He added that he would always hear fans’ views, while maintaining there is a wide range of price points, with some tickets cheaper and others higher.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who is standing for re-election, said the pricing reflects huge demand and market conditions. He pointed to dynamic pricing in the United States, where prices fluctuate depending on the match.

Whether those explanations will placate supporters remains unclear, amid media reports highlighting exorbitant figures on resale platforms.
