Filip Pavic becomes first 2010-born player to debut in Champions League

Filip Pavic, 16, made his Champions League debut for Bayern Munich against Atalanta on Wednesday night, entering the record books.
He came on in the 72nd minute of the last-16 second leg. According to L'Équipe, he is the first player born after 1 January 2010 to feature in the competition.
Born on 19 January 2010, Pavic is now the third-youngest to appear in the Champions League, behind Arsenal’s Max Dowman, who debuted on 4 November 2025 aged 15 years and 308 days, and Borussia Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko, who was 16 years and 18 days on 8 December 2020.
He sits just ahead of Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, whose first outing came at 16 years and 68 days.
Pavic has been at Bayern since 2019 and has nine caps for Germany Under-16s. He has signed a professional contract with the club until 2029.
