Filipe Luis is set to replace Sébastien Pocognoli in the dugout for AS Monaco, as per a report from Fabrizio Romano.
It was reported by Nice-Matin on Wednesday night that Pocognoli, having arrived back in October, would be relieved of his duties amid a post-season review. It comes after a late-season collapse from the Principality club. In contention for UEFA Champions League qualification, they took just five points from a possible 18 in the last six league matches. It means that, next season, they will compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Pocognoli’s tenure will therefore be cut short. Romano understands that Monaco have already reached an agreement with Filipe Luis, who has been linked with Chelsea and RC Strasbourg Alsace. Filipe Luis has already agreed to the move and he is set to sign a deal that runs until 2028.
Monaco’s move for the Brazilian was led by CEO Thiago Scuro, whose on future has come into question in recent weeks.
