After the 3-0 defeat to relegated West Ham on the final day, Farke said discussions about the future had begun and would continue in the coming weeks. He stressed the need to recharge and noted work had started once survival was secured.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone may seek a return to the top flight. He made 17 appearances last season as the relegated side preferred Jose Sa over the former England international. Centre-back Yerson Mosquera was relegated with Wolves alongside Johnstone after the club failed to win more than three league games all season, playing 31 times and is viewed as 'good enough to stay up'.

Southampton’s Finn Azaz impressed after joining last year, delivering 21 goal contributions. Their 'Spygate' scandal may prompt departures, and Azaz has been a regular in recent Republic of Ireland camps.

Team-mate Shea Charles is another especially likely mover. The midfielder struck the winner against Arsenal in the FA Cup to send the Saints into the semi-finals.

Swansea City centre-forward Zan Vipotnik, 24, could thrive at a higher level. He scored 23 goals with three assists for the Swans, finishing as the Championship’s top scorer in 2025/26.
