Midfielder Lorran has returned to Flamengo after a loan at Italian side Pisa, with academy director Alfredo Almeida saying he belongs to the professional set-up, though the under-20s remains open to him.
"What I can say now is that Lorran is, legally, still an under-20 player. He was handled by the professional department when he joined Pisa, so it is their matter. I am waiting to see what they decide. If the first team feel his path is the under-20s, we are here for him." He was speaking to Venê Casagrande.
Seen as a recent academy prospect, Lorran initially saw minutes at Pisa. He then struggled to adapt to the coach’s style, and the club chose not to trigger their option to buy, leading to his return.
He is currently on holiday after his spell in Italy. The first team reconvenes on 19 June, when Leonardo Jardim is expected to assess the squad, leaving the midfielder’s immediate future with the Portuguese staff.
Lorran is 19 and under contract at Flamengo until 2029. If he is not used by the first team, the club would be expected to look for a new home for him.
