Flamengo edged Estudiantes (ARG) 1-0 in the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday 20, Pedro scoring, then their fans demanded greater fight before a league meeting with Palmeiras.
According to Coluna Do Fla, supporters chanted that Saturday would be war immediately after the final whistle, a message widely repeated on social media.

Flamengo and Palmeiras have set the pace in Brazilian football in recent seasons, often battling for the Copa Libertadores and the Campeonato Brasileiro, sharpening an interstate rivalry.
At present Flamengo are second in the league with 31 points from 15 matches. Palmeiras lead with 35 points from 16 games.
The sides meet at the Maracanã on Saturday 23 at 21:00 Brasília time in round 17 of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
