Flamengo will not stand idle during the World Cup, the squad will decamp to Portugal for a midseason camp and are negotiating friendlies with English and Scottish clubs alongside Benfica.

GE reports that discussions cover Falkirk on three or four July, Birmingham on eight July, and that Benfica would be last on 11 July.

Their final match before the pause is on Saturday against Coritiba. The squad will then take holidays, returning on 19 June at Ninho do Urubu.

The delegation is due to travel on 28 June to the Algarve, where they will stay from 29 June to 11 July.

After the World Cup, their first fixture is scheduled for 22 July against Chapecoense in the 19th round of the Brasileirão. The trip to Portugal is being funded by SingularSport, so Flamengo will not incur costs during the overseas camp.
