According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo are negotiating an amicable exit with Everton Cebolinha to bring forward his departure and ease the wage bill, with Corinthians among the clubs keen.
Such an agreement would spare Flamengo about R$ seven million, the remainder of the forward’s salary through to December. The winger’s current deal runs until the end of the year.
Everton has told the board he wants to leave ahead of schedule, and both sides are working towards a compromise in the coming months. Flamengo are open to a lower compensation to reduce costs.
Corinthians, Grêmio, Cruzeiro and Fluminense are monitoring his situation. The São Paulo side view Everton as a market opportunity, though no club has made a formal offer so far.
Under Leonardo Jardim, Everton has slipped down the pecking order. He has played 18 times this season for 772 minutes, averaging 42 per game, and has three goals plus one assist.
Flamengo face Estudiantes away on Wednesday 29 at 21:30 Brasília time in the third round of the Copa Libertadores.
