With five days left of the internal transfer window, Flamengo are not expected to alter their squad and will look to the next market.
The international window shut on 3 March, and domestic deals remain possible until Friday 27 March. According to Globo.com, the club are not targeting players who featured in state competitions and are prioritising the second window of 2026.
Recruitment strategy has steered away from punts, with the view that enhancing an already powerful group requires bigger markets and heavier investment.
The next window runs from 20 July to 11 September. It is likely Flamengo will negotiate further exits then and seek replacements, while also addressing the unresolved need for a centre-forward.
Former head coach Filipe Luís helped set the profile and suggested options. Flamengo pursued high-profile forwards, including Kaio Jorge, Taty Castellanos and Richarlison, but none of those talks progressed.
Leonardo Jardim still wants a centre-forward, though the search is set to change. He is more flexible on profile and open to assessing additional scouting-led options.
With a lean squad, Jardim will use academy players to aid day-to-day preparation until reinforcements arrive. In the second half of the year, after ins and outs, he is expected to have a group more to his liking.
In the first 2026 window Flamengo spent over R$ 300 million on three signings, goalkeeper Andrew, centre-back Vitão and midfielder Lucas Paquetá.
