Flamengo players marked their 2-1 win over Botafogo at Nilton Santos by taking in the first night of Sapucaí’s Special Group parades. According to Globo.com, several members of the squad attended the sambadrome hours after sealing a place in the Campeonato Carioca semi-finals.
Carrascal and Erick Pulgar started the derby, and the Chilean midfielder hit the second-half winner for Flamengo. Léo Pereira was rested by coach Filipe Luís and featured only in the closing minutes.
Three players were spotted in hospitality boxes. Léo Pereira spent time alongside former Brazil forwards Ronaldo Fenômeno and Denílson, while Carrascal and Pulgar watched from another box.
Léo Pereira almost crossed paths with Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who left shortly before the defender arrived. The centre-back has been a standout since last year and has publicly questioned his lack of call-ups.
The squad are due back at Ninho do Urubu on Monday morning, with training scheduled for 10:30.
