Flamengo political groups issue statement to Bap amid row with Libra | OneFootball

The political groups organized by Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, representing different schools of thought within the Deliberative Council, but united in defending the Club's interests, hereby publicly endorse our support for the position adopted by the Board of Directors in the impasse with LIBRA regarding the revenue-sharing criteria for television, specifically the parameters to be observed for the division of the 30% linked to audience. Initially, it is important to recognize and commend the current stance taken in conducting this debate. In the meeting held at the Deliberative Council on October 7, with transparency and objectivity, the facts that occurred throughout the year on this topic were presented, allowing everyone to precisely understand the gravity of the issue. It became evident in the said meeting that the unanimity required by LIBRA's own statute was never achieved to consider the criterion proposed by LIBRA in the distribution of the "audience" share. This criterion punishes a single club, namely Flamengo. We cannot agree with this scenario. Flamengo cannot have its representation reduced in an imposing manner, nor can it be treated as an enemy to be combated, but rather as an example to be followed. However, what is witnessed is a covert attempt at "leveling down," driven by interests aiming to create mechanisms to take revenue from Flamengo, instead of promoting advances in fundamental topics for the evolution of our sport, such as: Mandatory standardization of natural surface pitches; Rational organization of the national competition calendar; And, above all, the implementation of serious Financial Fair Play rules. In light of this, we fully endorse the firm conduct of the Board of Directors, confident that Flamengo will not face this battle alone: it will have our support and that of its Nation — on and off the field — and will remain, as always, at the forefront, defending meritocracy, professionalism, and the modernization of Brazilian football.
