Flamengo have turned down bids totalling R$ 116 million in the past month, rebuffing approaches for Léo Pereira and Emerson Royal.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Aston Villa offered 10 million euros, R$ 58 million, for the right-back at the end of June, and in recent days Besiktas tabled the same amount for the centre-back. Both offers were dismissed.

In 2009, former president Márcio Braga told a press conference the club had run out of money, and at that time Flamengo could not have afforded to refuse R$ 116 million.

Now the club have recorded revenue above R$ one billion for four straight years, reaching R$ 2.089 billion in 2025. That position means they can take this stance.

This year’s biggest sale was Ryan Roberto to Shakhtar Donetsk (UCR) for 10 million euros, R$ 58 million. The report said the club expect to negotiate more academy players, such as Evertton Araújo, and that some are viewed as untouchable while others, seen as offering little, are harder to move due to limited exposure.

Flamengo face Internacional on Wednesday 29 in round 21 of the Brasileirão, with kick-off at 19:30 Brasília time at Estádio Beira-Rio in Rio Grande do Sul.
