Flamengo are pushing to sign Luiz Henrique and have shifted strategy from their Thiago Almada talks. According to Coluna Do Fla, the club want clarity quickly.
The plan is to secure a prompt response from Luiz Henrique, rather than waiting indefinitely for a firm decision on the forward’s future.
While he is the priority target, Flamengo continue to scan the market. A Plan C is not under active consideration, though it has not been ruled out.
The change in stance is tied to the Almada pursuit, where, despite clear interest and multiple deadlines, the Argentine has not given a concrete position.
Early on Tuesday, director José Boto returned from Argentina after seeking updates on Almada. At Galeão airport he said Flamengo would not enter an auction and stressed the club are working on several fronts, not just one name.
Asked in March about a potential move, Luiz Henrique said, “I cannot talk about that now. I just want to perform as well as I can for my club so that later, with my family, I can decide my future”, speaking to GOAT.
As negotiations continue, Luiz Henrique remains available to Zenit (RUS). On Wednesday he featured in their 1-0 Russian Cup win.
