Ahead of tomorrow's clash with Copenhagen, Mark Flekken started he is looking forward to making his Champions League debut for Bayer Leverkusen and hailed teammate Axel Tape.
“It's a dream come true, I'm really looking forward to this game. Every child dreams of this. But it's not about my journey, I'm at a great club now and it's all about tomorrow's game.
“He [Tape] is a huge talent. What he is showing at the age of 18 is absolutely fantastic. But he is still young. If he can gain experience in his playing style, mature further, and stay healthy, he can become a great football player," he said.
Meanwhile, the Rhinelanders' new head coach Kasper Hjulmand provided a brief personnel update and voiced his frustration at Exequiel Palacios' unfortunately adductor injury.
“We are optimistic that Nathan [Tella] will be able to play again [against Gladbach] on Sunday. The situation with Pala [Palacios] annoys me, especially for Pala himself.
“I am now focusing on the players I have available. We have a great squad and everyone is ready to play. We will need all our players in the coming weeks,” said the Dane.
