Barcelona manager Hansi Flick spoke to the media ahead of his team’s La Liga trip to Celta Vigo, addressing several key topics ranging from player fitness to the importance of consistency and confidence within the squad.

Speaking about Celta Vigo, Flick made it clear that the result will come down to the team’s mentality.

“Right now, Celta is in good form, but ultimately it comes down to attitude. We’ve talked about it.

“It’s important to win there. We want to come away with three more points,” the German coach insisted, setting a focused tone before the away fixture.

In recent days, both Joan Laporta and Deco have publicly backed Flick, reaffirming their trust in his philosophy and long-term vision for the club. Flick acknowledged that support with gratitude, saying,

“The club’s support is always important. Having their confidence is crucial. We’ve talked a lot about the situation, and we know how things stand.

“We need a bit more confidence; we saw that in the match against Club Brugge.”

He also emphasised that communication within the club has been positive despite recent setbacks.

“There are a few issues, but we’ve discussed everything, and I hope we can do much better tomorrow,” Flick added.

Turning his attention to the team’s return to Spotify Camp Nou, the manager could not hide his admiration for the club’s refurbished home.

“The first impression has been fantastic, incredible. You can feel the history this stadium holds.

“When we stepped onto the pitch and saw the fans and the stadium, it was breathtaking.

“The way this stadium has been built is incredible. It’s the most important thing for the future of this club, and they’ve done a great job.”

Update on Eric and Kounde

On the injury front, Flick provided updates on Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde, saying,

“Eric can play, he’s fine. With a mask, though. Jules? He hasn’t finished training, and I have doubts he’ll make the squad.

“I don’t think he’ll be ready, but we have another day. We’ll wait and see.”

The manager also provided an update on the return of Joan Garcia, stating, “We are very happy with his progress, with how he is and with his level.

We will wait until after the break and, after the break, he will be back.”

Asked about missing Gavi, Flick’s admiration was evident.

“I think it’s always good to think and talk about how Gavi could help us, but it’s not an option right now.

“His character, his attitude, his mentality… he’s outstanding in every way. When he’s back, I’d be delighted. But for now, we just have to wait.”

Finally, he praised Lamine Yamal for his recent growth and maturity, noting,

“He’s changed, he’s better now. He’s training very well at the gym, which is important for his injury.

“We can see him at his best, he’s not 100%. I think we have to take care of him and I think he’s doing that,” he concluded.
