Hansi Flick faced the media ahead of Barcelona’s decisive UEFA Champions League encounter against FC Copenhagen, a match that could define the Blaugrana’s European path this season.
With a place in the Champions League top eight at stake, the German coach struck a calm but determined tone, underlining both respect for the opponent and belief in his squad.
Asked about his feelings ahead of the game, Flick immediately focused on mentality and preparation rather than pressure.
“I hope the team is feeling good and confident. We have to respect Copenhagen. The most important thing is that we do our job and play at our best.
“It won’t be an easy game. The goal is to finish in the top eight.”

Flick, however, showed full confidence in the depth of his squad.
“We have a good team, also on the bench. We play as a team, and we’re eager to play this game, and it’s very important for us.
“That’s what I want to see.”
There was also positive news regarding Ferran Torres, whose availability had been in doubt after a recent injury.
Flick confirmed that the forward is ready to return.
“He’s fine, he looks good. He’s ready for tomorrow. I’m happy that he’s recovered so quickly.”
With goal difference potentially decisive in the Champions League standings, Flick was asked whether Barcelona might feel tempted to rush the game in search of a big win.
“We have to take it step by step. First, we have to play the game and respect Copenhagen. We have to play at our best.
“Try to keep a clean sheet and then take it step by step.”

The coach also welcomed the recent contract renewal of Fermin Lopez, praising both the player and the club’s long-term planning.
“I think the club has done a good job. He’s a great player in several positions. His mentality in every game is very good. He’s also very good with the ball and I’m happy that he’s staying longer.
“When they come from La Masía to the first team, it’s perfect. I think he enjoys every day.”
Finally, Flick addressed the absence of Andreas Christensen, stating,
“It was a bad time when he got injured because he was playing well. He was playing at a top level and gave us a lot of options.
“This injury was tough because it happened in training, and it hurt the whole team and the coaching staff.
“He will be back and I think he’ll be able to finish the season well.”
