Sunderland are being linked with a trio of targets worth about £67million as Florent Ghisolfi shapes an ambitious summer rebuild. The reported plan comes as the club prepares for its next phase in the Premier League. Potential arrivals could be tempered by outside interest in a first team regular.

TEAMtalk reports that Manchester City’s Rico Lewis, 21, is weighing up his future amid limited minutes. Valued at around £44million, he is said to want regular football to safeguard his England prospects after signing a long-term deal last year. Sunderland are listed among admirers alongside Newcastle United, Everton, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Brighton.

TEAMtalk also claims Sunderland are monitoring Blackburn Rovers defender Tom Atcheson, valued at around £10million. The 19-year-old has become a regular since his December debut and is attracting Premier League attention. Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle are understood to be tracking him.

Sport Witness notes that long-standing interest in Almeria playmaker Sergio Arribas, 24, remains active, with a price tag of about £13million. Ghisolfi is viewed as an admirer and a move could be revisited to add creativity. If Lewis, Atcheson and Arribas were signed, the combined spend would sit near £67million.

Football Insider reports Chelsea’s strong interest in goalkeeper Robin Roefs, 23, ahead of the window, with a valuation up to £60million. Liverpool and Manchester City are also said to be monitoring his situation. Roefs is expected to return to Sunderland’s starting XI after the international break following several weeks out injured.
