Fluminense face Independiente Rivadavia again in Libertadores last 16

Fluminense will face Independiente Rivadavia in the 2026 Copa Libertadores round of 16. After qualifying in second place in Group C, the Tricolor will take on the Argentine side in pursuit of a spot in the quarterfinals. With the worst record of the group stage, the Team of Warriors will play all of its first-leg knockout matches at the Maracanã and the second leg away from home. The matches are scheduled for the weeks of August 12 and 19.

The Tricolor will meet its Group C opponent again in the first knockout round. During the group stage, Fluminense was beaten 2-1 at the Maracanã and drew 1-1 in Argentina.
